KNOWLEDGE BENNETT

Knowledge Bennett (b. 1976, Asbury Park, NJ) is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist whose work exists at the intersection of fine art, photography, film, and cultural commentary. Known for his bold large-scale paintings and conceptual explorations of power, identity, and transformation, Bennett fuses the visual language of Pop Art with the disciplined restraint of Minimalism and the philosophical weight of social realism.
Since emerging on the New York art scene and later establishing his Los Angeles studio, Bennett has developed a body of work that redefines modern portraiture and symbolism. Series such as Obama Cowboy, Cojones, Orange Is the New Black, and his Black Paintings have positioned him as both a visual provocateur and a thinker — an artist unafraid to challenge systems, question narratives, and reimagine the American mythos.
In 2018, Bennett founded The KNOW Contemporary, a hybrid gallery and creative space dedicated to presenting progressive visual art and dialogue-driven exhibitions. His commitment extends beyond canvas and gallery walls; through BLDG C APT. 10 Productions, Bennett expands his storytelling into film, developing narrative and documentary projects that bridge art, culture, and human experience.
Grounded in self-determination and driven by an unrelenting pursuit of truth, Knowledge Bennett’s practice is a reflection of life’s dualities — chaos and control, beauty and brutality, the seen and unseen. His work stands as both mirror and message: a call to consciousness, evolution, and creative freedom.
