Share A Coke
2015-2018
Share A Coke began in Lake Como in 2015, when Knowledge Bennett received a Coca-Cola bottle bearing his name. That encounter with an industrial icon made personal became a meditation on design, artistic legacy, American power, and the distance between a vessel and what it contains.
Through photography, digital manipulation, and hand-pulled silkscreen, Bennett places the names of Picasso, Dali, Warhol, Basquiat, and Haring within the familiar language of global advertising. The bottle becomes an invitation into art history and an inquiry into how images circulate beyond institutional walls. Later works introduce black diamond dust, shifting the image as light moves across its surface.
For Bennett, the bottle also offers a metaphor for America: an enduring form whose contents require scrutiny. The series joins preservation with critique, asking how a culture can retain its creative promise while confronting the systems that diminish its people.
